Anuśāsana-parva 17
नाम्नां कंचित् समुद्देशं वक्ष्याम्यव्यक्तयोनिन: । जब उनकी जज्ञा प्राप्त हुई है
vāyudeva uvāca | nāmnāṁ kañcit samuddeśaṁ vakṣyāmy avyaktayoninaḥ | hiraṇyabāhuś ca guhāpālaḥ praveśinām | prakṛṣṭārimahāharṣo jitakāmo jitendriyaḥ |
Vāyudeva sprach: „Ich will eine kurze Auswahl der Namen des großen Herrn Śiva verkünden, dessen Ursprung das Unmanifestierte ist, der ohne Anfang und ohne Ende ist und der kausale Grund der Welt. (Er ist) Hiraṇyabāhu, dessen Arme wie Gold erstrahlen; Guhāpāla, der Hüter der Höhle für jene, die in ihr Inneres eintreten; der Vernichter furchtbarer innerer Feinde; die Verkörperung höchster Wonne; der Bezwinger der Begierde; und der Meister der Sinne.“
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse frames devotion as inseparable from ethical discipline: Śiva is praised not only as cosmic cause (avyakta-yoni) but also as the exemplar of inner victory—conquering desire and mastering the senses—implying that true worship aligns with self-control and inward purification.
