युधिष्ठिरने कहा--पितामह! भाग्यहीन मनुष्य बलवान हो तो भी उसे धन नहीं मिलता और जो भाग्यवान् है
Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca—akāryam asakṛt kṛtvā dṛśyante hy arthanā narāḥ | dhanayuktāḥ svakarmasthā dṛśyante cāpare ’rthanāḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „O Großvater! Wir sehen viele Menschen, die, obwohl sie immer wieder Unrecht tun, dennoch ohne Reichtum bleiben. Und wir sehen andere, die in ihren eigenen rechten Pflichten fest gegründet sind und Besitz haben—während manche, selbst so, arm bleiben. Was also lenkt das Erlangen von Wohlstand: das Schicksal, das Verhalten oder etwas anderes?“
