एवं दग्धा भगवता दानवा: स्वेन तेजेसा । अगस्त्येन तदा राज॑ंस्तपसा भावितात्मना,'“राजन्! इस प्रकार शुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले भगवान् अगस्त्यने अपने तप और तेजसे दानवोंको दग्ध कर दिया था
evaṁ dagdhā bhagavatā dānavāḥ svena tejasā | agastyena tadā rājan tapasā bhāvitātmanā ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „O König, auf diese Weise wurden die Dānavas vom seligen Weisen Agastya verbrannt—sein Inneres durch tapas geläutert und gestählt—durch die Macht seines eigenen geistigen Glanzes.“
