अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
उत्पत्तौ च विनाशे च कारण य॑ विदुर्बुधा: । देवासुरमुनीनां च परं यस्मान्न विद्यते
utpattau ca vināśe ca kāraṇaṁ yad vidur budhāḥ | devāsura-munīnāṁ ca paraṁ yasmān na vidyate ||
Vāyu sprach: „Den, den die Weisen als Ursache sowohl des Entstehens als auch des Vergehens der Welt erkennen, und über den niemand steht, nicht einmal unter Göttern, Asuras und Rishis — zu diesem höchsten Herrn (Mahādeva) nehme ich Zuflucht.“
