Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)
पूर्णे च दशमे मासि पुत्रो5स्य परमादभुत: । रुक्मिण्यां सम्मतो जज्ञे शूरो वंशधर: प्रभो
pūrṇe ca daśame māsi putro 'sya paramādbhutaḥ | rukmiṇyāṁ sammato jajñe śūro vaṁśadharaḥ prabho prabho ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Als der zehnte Monat vollendet war, wurde ihm von Rukmiṇī ein überaus wunderbarer Sohn geboren — von allen gebilligt und freudig begrüßt, heldenhaft, und dazu bestimmt, sein Geschlecht zu tragen und fortzuführen, o Herr.“
