Śatarudrīya-prabhāva and Rudra’s Supremacy (शतरुद्रीयप्रभावः)
क्यों आपके ललाटमें तीसरा नेत्र प्रकट हुआ? किसलिये आपने पक्षियों और वनोंसहित पर्वतको दग्ध किया और देव! फिर किसलिये आपने उसे पूर्वावस्थामें ला दिया। मेरे इन पिताको आपने जो पूर्ववत् वृक्षोंसे आच्छादित कर दिया, इसका क्या कारण है? ।।
śrīmaheśvara uvāca |
sthāne saṁśayitu devi dharmajñe priyabhāṣiṇī |
tvadṛte māṁ hi vai praṣṭuṁ na śakyaṁ kenacit priye ||
prakāśaṁ yadi vā guhyaṁ priyārthaṁ prabravīmy aham |
śṛṇu tat sarvam akhilam asyāṁ saṁsadi bhāmini ||
sarveṣām eva lokānāṁ kūṭasthaṁ viddhi māṁ priye |
madadhīnāstrayo lokā yathā viṣṇau tathā mayi |
sraṣṭā viṣṇur ahaṁ goptā ity etad viddhi bhāmini ||
tasmād yadā māṁ spṛśati śubhaṁ vā yadi vetarat |
tathaivedaṁ jagat sarvaṁ tattad bhavati śobhane ||
netre me saṁvṛte devi tvayā bālyād anindite |
naṣṭālokaḥ tadā lokaḥ kṣaṇena samapadyata ||
Śrī Maheśvara sprach: „Dein Zweifel ist berechtigt, o Göttin — Kennerin des Dharma und von sanfter Rede. Geliebte, außer dir könnte niemand mir eine solche Frage stellen. Ob die Sache offen oder verborgen sei: um deinetwillen will ich alles darlegen. Höre hier in dieser Versammlung alles vollständig, o Strahlende. Wisse, Geliebte: Ich bin der unbewegte innere Grund aller Welten. Die drei Welten hängen von mir ab, wie sie auch von Viṣṇu abhängen. Begreife dies, o Schöne: Viṣṇu ist der Schöpfer, und ich bin der Bewahrer. Darum gilt: Berührt mich etwas Günstiges — oder das Gegenteil —, so wird das ganze All entsprechend günstig oder ungünstig, o Liebliche. Als du in kindlicher Unschuld meine beiden Augen schlossest, o makellose Göttin, fiel die Welt sogleich in Dunkelheit; in einem einzigen Augenblick ging ihr Licht verloren.“
