Brahmapūjā-kāraṇa-prśnaḥ and Keśava–Viṣvaksena-stuti

Question on Brahmin veneration; hymn on Kṛṣṇa as cosmic order

Educational Q&A

A wise person should give promptly and gladly to a friend when mutual affection is recognized; the verse highlights a form of giving driven by personal attachment and the desire to please, rather than purely duty-based or detached charity.

In Bhishma’s instruction on dharma (especially the ethics of giving), he classifies or illustrates motivations for dāna, here describing a gift offered to a friend out of mutual fondness, done without reluctance and without delay.
