य: पूर्वमसृजद्‌ देवं ब्रह्माणं लोकभावनम्‌ । अण्डमाकाशमापूर्य वरं तस्माद्‌ वृणीमहे

Transliteration

yaḥ pūrvam asṛjad devaṁ brahmāṇaṁ lokabhāvanam | aṇḍam ākāśam āpūrya varaṁ tasmād vṛṇīmahe ||

Translation

Śakra (Indra) spricht: „Der, welcher am Anfang den Gott Brahmā hervorbrachte, den Erhalter und Gestalter der Welten, und der die weite Ausdehnung des Raumes mit dem kosmischen Ei erfüllte — von jenem Großen Herrn begehren wir eine Gabe (einen Segen).“
