दानशील-समाचारः, सत्कारः, अहिंसा च
Umā–Maheśvara Saṃvāda
पितरश्न न तुष्यन्ति सह देवैर्विशेषत: । प्रायक्षित्तं तु यत् तत्र ब्रुवतस्तन्निबोध मे,उसके ऊपर देवताओंसहित पितर भी विशेष संतुष्ट नहीं होते हैं। ऐसे स्थलोंपर जो प्रायश्चित्तका विधान है, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो
pitaras na tuṣyanti saha devair viśeṣataḥ | prāyaścittaṁ tu yat tatra bruvatas tan nibodha me ||
Dort werden die Pitṛs (Ahnengeister) nicht zufrieden — ja, selbst zusammen mit den Göttern sind sie in besonderem Maße nicht erfreut. Darum höre mir zu, während ich die für solche Fälle vorgeschriebene Sühne (prāyaścitta) darlege.
