Chapter 128: Śiva–Umā Dialogue—Tilottamā, the Ritual Valence of the Śmaśāna, and the Fourfold Duty-Code
निश्चय ही तुम धनवानोंके बीच परम उत्तम और समयोचित बात कहते होगे, किंतु वह उन्हें पसंद न आती होगी। इसीलिये तुम सफेद और दुर्बल हो रहे हो ।।
dṛḍhapūrvaśrutaṃ mūrkhaṃ kupitaṃ hṛdayapriyam | anunetuṃ na śaknoṣi tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||
Der Brāhmane sprach: „Ein dir lieber Mensch—einst fest im Entschluss und dir seit langem vertraut—ist aus Torheit zornig auf dich geworden. Du vermagst ihn nicht durch sanftes Zureden zu besänftigen und zurückzugewinnen; darum bist du mager und bleich geworden wie ein Hirsch.“
