Kīṭopākhyāna: Prajā-pālana as Kṣatra-vrata and the Attainment of Brāhmaṇya

न भयं विद्यते जातु नरस्येह दयावत: । दयावतामिमे लोका: परे चापि तपस्विनाम्‌

na bhayaṁ vidyate jātu narasyeha dayāvataḥ | dayāvatām ime lokāḥ pare cāpi tapasvinām ||

Bhīṣma lehrt: „In dieser Welt braucht der mitfühlende Mensch keine Furcht zu haben. Für die Mitfühlenden — und für die Asketen, die der Entsagung ergeben sind — werden sowohl dieses Leben als auch das jenseitige günstig und sicher.“
