लोकान् वसूनामाप्रोति दिवाकरसमप्रभ: । कामचारी सुधाहारो विमानवरमास्थित:
lokān vasūnām āpnoti divākarasamaprabhaḥ | kāmacārī sudhāhāro vimānavaram āsthitaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Strahlend wie die Sonne gelangt er in die Welten der Vasus. Nach Belieben bewegt er sich frei, nährt sich von ambrosischer Speise und weilt in einem vortrefflichen Himmelswagen.“
भीष्म उवाच
The verse presents the ethical idea that meritorious conduct yields elevated posthumous results: one gains radiant, divine status—access to higher realms, freedom of movement, and celestial enjoyments—symbolizing the fruition of dharma.
Bhīṣma is describing the heavenly attainment of a virtuous person: he reaches the realms of the Vasus, shines like the sun, moves at will, partakes of ambrosia, and rides in a splendid vimāna—an image of divine reward.
