आचारप्रशंसा

Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

गृहे पारावता धन्या: शुकाश्न सहसारिका: । गृहेष्वेते न पापाय तथा वै तैलपायिका:,(देवता प्रतिमा55दर्शाश्वन्दना: पुष्पवल्लिका: । शुद्ध जल॑ सुवर्ण च रजतं गृहमंगलम्‌ ।।

bhīṣma uvāca | gṛhe pārāvatā dhanyāḥ śukāś ca sahasārikāḥ | gṛheṣv ete na pāpāya tathā vai tailapāyikāḥ | devatā-pratimā darpaṇaś candanaṁ puṣpa-vallikā | śuddha-jalaṁ suvarṇaṁ ca rajataṁ gṛha-maṅgalam ||

Bhīṣma sprach: „In einem Haus sind Tauben glückverheißend, ebenso Papageien und die Myna. Ihre Anwesenheit bringt weder Sünde noch Unheil, anders als gewisse Vögel, die tailapāyikā genannt und als unheilvoll angesehen werden. Ebenso gilt es als förderlich für das Wohlergehen des Hauses, wenn man ein Götterbild, einen Spiegel, Sandelholz, eine blühende Ranke, reines Wasser, Gold und Silber im Hause bewahrt.“
