Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla

न तु श्मशानसम्भूता देवतायतनोद्भवा: । संनयेत्‌ पुष्टियुक्तेषु विवाहेषु रह:सु च,श्मशान तथा जीर्ण-शीर्ण देवालयोंमें पैदा हुए फूलोंका पौष्टिक कर्म, विवाह तथा एकान्त विहारमें उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिये

na tu śmaśānasambhūtā devatāyatanodbhavāḥ | sannayet puṣṭiyukteṣu vivāheṣu rahaḥsu ca ||

Śukra sprach: Blumen, die auf einem Verbrennungsplatz gewachsen sind, oder die innerhalb des Bezirks eines Heiligtums der Gottheit entsprossen, sollen nicht für Handlungen verwendet werden, die auf Nahrung, Stärkung und glückverheißenden Zuwachs zielen — wie Kräftigungsriten, Hochzeiten oder heimliche Liebesfreuden. Die Lehre macht deutlich, dass selbst anmutige Dinge wie Blumen Reinheitsregeln je nach Zusammenhang unterliegen: Was mit Stätten des Todes oder mit vorbehaltenen heiligen Räumen verbunden ist, darf nicht zu weltlichem Genuss oder zu Anlässen der Wohlstandssuche umgelenkt werden.
