Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition

प्रकाशकर्ता भगवांस्तस्यां गर्भ दधौ तदा । अजीजनत्‌ सुतं चास्यां सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वरम्‌,तब सम्पूर्ण जगतमें प्रकाश फैलानेवाले भगवान्‌ सूर्यने कुन्तीके उदरमें गर्भ स्थापित किया और उस गर्भसे एक ऐसे पुत्रको जन्म दिया, जो समस्त श्त्रधारियोंमें श्रेष्ठ था

vaiśampāyana uvāca | prakāśakartā bhagavāṁs tasyāṁ garbhaṁ dadhau tadā | ajījanat sutaṁ cāsyāṁ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṁ varam |

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Da legte der gesegnete Sonnengott, der Spender des Lichts, einen Keim in ihren Schoß. Aus dieser Empfängnis gebar sie einen Sohn, den Vornehmsten unter allen Waffenträgern.
