Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights continuity of dharma through orderly appointment (vidhi) and responsible succession: when one capable person is assigned to a major duty for the common good (yogakṣema), the lineage ensures another worthy successor is brought forth to sustain sacred responsibilities.

After Brahmā assigns the Bhārgava (identified in the accompanying tradition as Śukra) to the task of safeguarding the world’s welfare and stability, Bhṛgu fathers another blameless son, indicating the continuation and strengthening of his family line and its roles.
