King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
अनुग्रहार्थ लोकानां विष्णुलोकनमस्कृत: । वसुदेवात् तु देवक्यां प्रादुर्भूतोी महायशा:,उन्हीं दिनों विश्ववन्दित महायशस्वी भगवान् विष्णु जगत्के जीवोंपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये वसुदेवजीके द्वारा देवकीके गर्भसे प्रकट हुए
anugrahārthaṁ lokānāṁ viṣṇulokanamaskṛtaḥ | vasudevāt tu devakyāṁ prādurbhūto mahāyaśāḥ ||
Um den Lebewesen Gnade zu erweisen, offenbarte sich der weithin verehrte Herr Viṣṇu—geehrt selbst in der Sphäre Viṣṇus—mit großem Ruhm, indem er durch Vasudeva im Schoß Devakīs geboren wurde. Die Erzählung deutet dieses Herabsteigen als mitfühlendes Eingreifen zum Wohl der Welt: zum Schutz des Dharma und zur Linderung des Leidens.
