Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

Educational Q&A

Dharma is the foundation of social and cosmic stability, and the king’s foremost duty is to uphold it; when royal protection of dharma weakens, moral and social confusion spreads.

The gods address the ‘lord of the earth’ and urge him to ensure that dharma does not fall into disorder on earth, emphasizing that the world is sustained by dharma as maintained through his rule.
