Als die gewaltige Giftschlange zubiss, durchdrang ihn das tödliche Gift des āśīviṣa, und der Baum loderte ringsum in Flammen auf.
काश्यप उवाच
The verse highlights how harmful intent (symbolized by venom) can spread swiftly and become all-consuming, turning a single injury into widespread destruction—an ethical warning about the cascading consequences of violence.
Kāśyapa narrates that a great serpent bites the victim on the chest; the deadly poison permeates him, and he is described as blazing up on all sides, indicating a sudden, overwhelming effect of the venom.
