इमे कुण्डले गृह्नातु भवानिति स ते प्रतिजग्राहोत्तड़क: प्रतिगृह्दा च कुण्डलेडचिन्तयत्‌,“ब्रह्म! आप ये दोनों कुण्डल ग्रहण कीजिये।” उत्तंकने उन कुण्डलोंको ले लिया। कुण्डल लेकर वे सोचने लगे--

ime kuṇḍale gṛhṇātu bhavān iti sa te pratijagrāhottakaḥ; pratigṛhya ca kuṇḍale ’cintayat—

Er sagte: „Bitte nehmt diese beiden Ohrringe an.“ Daraufhin nahm Uttanka sie entgegen; und als er die Ohrringe in seinem Besitz hatte, begann er nachzusinnen — darüber, was als Nächstes zu tun sei.
