एवमस्त्विति त॑ वल्निब्रह्याणं प्रत्यभाषत । सम्भूतौ तौ विदित्वा तु नरनारायणावृषी,तब अगनि्निने ब्रह्माजीसे कहा--'“अच्छा, ऐसा ही सही।” तदनन्तर दीर्घकालके पश्चात् नर-नारायण ऋषियोंके अवतीर्ण होनेकी बात जानकर अग्निदेवको ब्रह्माजीकी बातका स्मरण हुआ। राजन! तब वे पुनः ब्रह्माजीके पास गये
evam astv iti taṁ vahni-brahmāṇaṁ pratyabhāṣata | sambhūtau tau viditvā tu nara-nārāyaṇāv ṛṣī |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „So sei es“, erwiderte er Brahmā und Agni. Nach langer Zeit, als Agni erfuhr, dass die Weisen Nara und Nārāyaṇa geboren worden waren (als Inkarnationen erschienen), erinnerte er sich an Brahmās frühere Worte; und dann, o König, ging er abermals zu Brahmā.
