द्रौपदी च सुभद्रा च वासांस्थाभरणानि च । प्रायच्छतां महाराज ते तु तस्मिन् मदोत्कटे,महाराज! उस समय यौवनमदसे युक्त द्रौपदी और सुभद्राने बहुत-से वस्त्र और आभूषण बाँटे
vaiśampāyana uvāca | draupadī ca subhadrā ca vāsāṃsi ābharaṇāni ca | prāyacchatāṃ mahārāja te tu tasmin madotkaṭe ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: O König, Draupadī und Subhadrā verteilten Gewänder und Schmuck. In jenem Augenblick gesteigerter jugendlicher Erregung schenkten sie vieles — ein Bild festlicher Freigebigkeit und königlicher Großmut im Innern des Hauses.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dāna (generous giving) as a mark of cultured royal conduct: in times of celebration, wealth and adornments are not merely enjoyed but also shared, reinforcing social bonds and household dharma.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Draupadī and Subhadrā, caught up in festive youthful exuberance, distributed many garments and ornaments—suggesting a celebratory occasion in the Pāṇḍava household where gifts are being bestowed.
