Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s Enumeration of Assembled Kṣatriyas
त॑ निवारयितुं शक्तो नान्यो5स्ति भुवि कश्नन । त्वदृतेडद्य महाभाग सर्ववेदविदां वर
taṁ nivārayituṁ śakto nānyo 'sti bhuvi kaścana | tvadṛte 'dya mahābhāga sarvavedavidāṁ vara ||
„Auf dieser Erde vermag niemand, ihn zu zügeln—niemand überhaupt—außer dir heute, o Edler, der Beste unter denen, die alle Veden kennen. Darum bist du allein es, der ihn jetzt aufhalten kann.“
गन्धर्व उवाच
Capability creates responsibility: when harm or disorder cannot be checked by ordinary means, the one uniquely qualified—here praised for Vedic mastery and nobility—is ethically obliged to intervene and restrain the wrongdoer.
A Gandharva addresses a respected figure, declaring that no one else on earth can restrain a certain person; only the addressee can stop him at this moment, and is urged to act.
