द्रौपदी-स्वयंवर-प्रारम्भः

Commencement of Draupadī’s Svayaṃvara

त॑ तदा सुसमिद्धो5पि न ददाह हुताशन: । दीप्यमानो<प्यमित्रघ्न शीतोडग्निरभवत्‌ ततः,यद्यपि उस समय अग्नि प्रचण्ड वेगसे प्रज्वलित हो रही थी, तो भी उन्हें जला न सकी। शत्रुसूदन अर्जुन! उनके प्रभावसे वह दहकती हुई आग भी उनके लिये शीतल हो गयी

taṁ tadā susamiddho ’pi na dadāha hutāśanaḥ | dīpyamāno ’py amitraghna śīto ’gnir abhavat tataḥ ||

Da, obwohl das Feuer in voller Stärke loderte, vermochte es ihn nicht zu verbrennen. O Arjuna, Bezwinger der Feinde! Durch die Kraft seines Tapas und seiner geistigen Potenz wurde selbst das wild flammende Feuer für ihn kühl und harmlos.
