Aurva’s Containment of the Wrath-Fire
The verse highlights disciplined listening and clarity in speech: when a significant form of address is used (here, “Tāpatya,” indicating lineage), the speaker undertakes to explain its basis, and the listener is urged to be attentive and single-minded.
A Gandharva, having addressed someone as “Tāpatya,” now prepares to explain why that epithet applies, asking the listener to concentrate and hear the forthcoming account.
