Kalmāṣapāda’s Encounter with Śakti and the Escalation of the Vasiṣṭha–Viśvāmitra Feud (कल्माषपाद–शक्ति प्रसङ्गः)
एवं भवतु भद्रें ते भारद्वाज महामते । सख्यं तदेव भवतु शश्वद् यदभिमन्यसे,“महामते द्रोण! एवमस्तु, आपका कल्याण हो। आपकी जैसी राय है, उसके अनुसार हम दोनोंकी वही पुरानी मैत्री सदा बनी रहे”
evaṁ bhavatu bhadre te bhāradvāja mahāmate | sakhyaṁ tadeva bhavatu śaśvad yad abhimanyase ||
„So sei es, o Droṇa von großem Geist, Sohn Bhāradvājas; Heil möge dir zuteilwerden. Möge eben jene Freundschaft bestehen bleiben, immerdar, wie du es beabsichtigst.“
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse highlights ethical affirmation of relationship: goodwill (bhadre te), respect for the other’s intention (yad abhimanyase), and the choice to preserve enduring friendship (sakhyaṁ… śaśvat).
A brāhmaṇa speaker addresses Droṇa (called Bhāradvāja) and agrees to his proposal, blessing him and confirming that their longstanding friendship should continue permanently.
