साहं त्वामभिसम्प्रेक्ष्य देवगर्भसमप्रभम् । नान््यं भर्तारमिच्छामि सत्यमेतद् ब्रवीमि ते,“आपका तेज देवकुमारोंका-सा है, मैं आपको देखकर अब दूसरेको अपना पति बनाना नहीं चाहती। मैं यह सच्ची बात आपसे कह रही हूँ
sāhaṃ tvām abhisamprekṣya devagarbhasamaprabham | nānyaṃ bhartāram icchāmi satyam etad bravīmi te ||
„Als ich dich erblickte—strahlend wie ein göttlicher Jüngling—begehre ich keinen anderen Mann mehr zum Gemahl. Dies ist die Wahrheit, die ich dir sage.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights satya (truthfulness) as an ethical anchor: a sincere declaration of intent—especially regarding marriage—carries moral weight and implies responsibility to uphold one’s spoken truth.
Within Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a woman, impressed by a man’s divine-like radiance, openly declares that she will accept no other husband and affirms the statement as true, signaling a decisive marital choice.
