धृतराष्ट्रस्तु पुत्रेण श्रुव्वा वचनमीरितम्‌ | मुहूर्तमिव संचिन्त्य दुर्योधनमथाब्रवीत्‌,अपने पुत्रकी कही हुई यह बात सुनकर धृतराष्ट्र दो घड़ीतक भारी चिन्तामें पड़े रहे; फिर दुर्योधनसे बोले

dhṛtarāṣṭras tu putreṇa śrutvā vacanam īritam | muhūrtam iva sañcintya duryodhanam athābravīt ||

Als Dhṛtarāṣṭra die Worte seines Sohnes vernahm, hielt er gleichsam einen Augenblick inne, wog sie in seinem Geist ab und sprach dann zu Duryodhana.
