अविज्ञाता महात्मानो जनानामक्षतास्तथा । जनन्या सह कौन्तेया मुक्ता विदुरमन्त्रिता:,विदुरकी सलाहके अनुसार काम करनेवाले महात्मा कुन्तीपुत्र अपनी माताके साथ मृत्युसे बच गये। उन्हें किसी प्रकारकी क्षति नहीं पहुँची। साधारण लोगोंको उनके जीवित रहनेकी बात ज्ञात न हो सकी
avai jñātā mahātmāno janānām akṣatās tathā | jananyā saha kaunteyā muktā vidura-mantritāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Indem die edlen Söhne Kuntīs nach Viduras Rat handelten, entkamen sie zusammen mit ihrer Mutter dem Tod. Sie blieben unversehrt, und dem gewöhnlichen Volk blieb ihr Überleben unbekannt — so konnten ihre Sicherheit und ihr weiterer Weg ohne Einmischung gewahrt werden.
