आदि पर्व, अध्याय 139 — Hiḍimba’s Detection and Hiḍimbā’s Approach to Bhīma

स्वभावादगमच्छब्दो महीं सागरमेखलाम्‌ | अर्जुनस्य समो लोके नास्ति कश्रिद्‌ धनुर्धर:,इस प्रकार समुद्रपर्यन्त पृथ्वीपर सब ओर अपने-आप ही यह बात फैल गयी कि संसारमें अर्जुनके समान दूसरा कोई धनुर्धर नहीं है

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | svabhāvād agamac chabdo mahīṃ sāgara-mekhalām | Arjunasya samo loke nāsti kaścid dhanurdharaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Von selbst verbreitete sich die Kunde über die ganze, vom Ozean umgürtete Erde, dass es in der Welt keinen Bogenschützen gebe, der Arjuna gleichkäme.
