Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)

कुमारा ऊचु: अभिवादयामहे ब्रह्मन्‌ नैतदन्येषु विद्यते । को5सि कस्यासि जानीमो वयं कि करवामहे,कुमार बोले--ब्रह्मन! हम आपको प्रणाम करते हैं। यह अस्त्र-कौशल दूसरे किसीमें नहीं है। आप कौन हैं, किसके पुत्र हैं--यह हम जानना हैं। बताइये, हमलोग आपकी कया सेवा करें?

kumārā ūcuḥ | abhivādayāmahe brahman, na etad anyeṣu vidyate | ko 'si kasya 'si jānīmo vayaṃ; kiṃ karavāmahe ||

Die Jünglinge sprachen: „Ehrwürdiger Brahmane, wir verneigen uns vor dir. Eine solche Meisterschaft in den Waffen findet sich bei keinem anderen. Wer bist du, und wessen Sohn bist du? Wir möchten es wissen. Sage uns: welchen Dienst können wir dir erweisen?“
