अद्यप्रभृति मां राजन् कष्टा हृदयशोषणा: । आधयो<5भिभविष्यन्ति त्वामृते पुष्करेक्षण,कमलके समान नेत्रोंवाले महाराज! आपके बिना आजसे हृदयको सुखा देनेवाले कष्ट और मानसिक चिन्ताएँ मुझे सताती रहेंगी
adyaprabhṛti māṃ rājan kaṣṭā hṛdayaśoṣaṇāḥ | ādhayo 'bhibhaviṣyanti tvām ṛte puṣkarekṣaṇa ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Von heute an, o König, werden mich harte Leiden, die das Herz austrocknen – Sorgen und innere Qualen –, in deiner Abwesenheit überwältigen, o Lotosäugiger.“
