FAQs

It grounds the Linga Purana’s authority in the Vyāsa lineage: the revelation and preservation of Shaiva teachings (Linga-tattva and Shiva-puja) are safeguarded through Vyāsa’s compilation for the spiritual welfare of beings.

Indirectly: by emphasizing scriptural transmission, it supports the Shaiva Siddhānta view that Pati (Shiva) is known through āgama/purāṇa-pramāṇa; the verse frames how liberating knowledge about Pati is made accessible to the bound Pashu.

No single rite is prescribed in this line; the focus is on the preservation of dharma-śāstra and purāṇic instruction—through which Shiva-puja vidhi and Pāśupata-oriented disciplines are later taught systematically.
