Shloka 9

उपमन्युना कृष्णाय पाशुपतज्ञान-प्रदानम् तथा दानविधि-फलश्रुतिः

तपसा त्वेकवर्षान्ते दृष्ट्वा देवं महेश्वरम् सांबं सगणमव्यग्रं लब्धवान्पुत्रमात्मनः

tapasā tvekavarṣānte dṛṣṭvā devaṃ maheśvaram sāṃbaṃ sagaṇamavyagraṃ labdhavānputramātmanaḥ

Doch nach einem vollen Jahr der Askese, als er den Herrn Mahādeva—Maheśvara—schaute, zusammen mit der Śakti (Sāmbha), von Seinen gaṇas umgeben und völlig unerschüttert, erlangte er für sich einen Sohn. So offenbart der Pati (Herr) dem paśu (gebundenen Selbst) Seine Gnade, wenn tapas zur standhaften bhakti heranreift, jenseits der Fesseln (pāśa).
