यः क्षात्त्रदेहन्तु विहाय शोचते रणाङ्गणे स्वामिवधे च गोग्रहे / स्त्रीबालघाते पथि सार्थहेतवे मया स्वकोशं न हतं न पातितम्
yaḥ kṣāttradehantu vihāya śocate raṇāṅgaṇe svāmivadhe ca gograhe / strībālaghāte pathi sārthahetave mayā svakośaṃ na hataṃ na pātitam
Wer, nachdem er den Körper eines Kriegers abgelegt hat, noch klagt und denkt: „In der Schlacht, oder beim Töten meines Herrn, oder bei Viehraubzügen; beim Erschlagen von Frauen und Kindern; oder auf dem Weg aus Gier, eine Karawane zu plündern—mein eigener Leib wurde weder getroffen noch zu Fall gebracht“, der trauert in Verblendung, gebunden an die Erinnerungen gewaltsamer Taten.
