शुद्धिनिरूपणं नाम त्रिचत्वारिंशो ऽध्यायः श्रीविष्णुरुवाच / स्वेच्छया तार्क्ष्य मरणं शृङ्गिदंष्ट्रिसरीसृपः / चाण्डालाद्यात्मघातैश्च विषाद्यैस्ताडनैस्तथा
śuddhinirūpaṇaṃ nāma tricatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ śrīviṣṇuruvāca / svecchayā tārkṣya maraṇaṃ śṛṅgidaṃṣṭrisarīsṛpaḥ / cāṇḍālādyātmaghātaiśca viṣādyaistāḍanaistathā
Vierundvierzigstes Kapitel, genannt «Darlegung der Reinigung». Der Herr Viṣṇu sprach: O Tārkṣya (Garuda), der Tod kann durch eigenen Entschluss eintreten, durch den Angriff gehörnter und bezahnter Kriechtiere (wie Schlangen), durch Selbsttötung und ähnliche Handlungen, durch Erschlagenwerden durch Caṇḍālas und andere Ausgestoßene, sowie durch Gift und andere Formen von Schlägen oder Übergriffen.
