Marīci sprach: „Durch den Einfluss göttlicher Macht ist mein Unterscheidungsvermögen niedergeschlagen; durch Verstrickung in das weltliche Leben bin ich zu allem Unheil hingegangen, und meine Sinne haben sich vom rechten Pfad abgewandt. Doch, von winzigen Splittern der Lust betrogen, richte ich täglich meinen Geist auf deine ‚Gabe‘ — und so schreite ich fort, unheilsames Handeln zu vollbringen.“
