Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda/Vinata-putra)

Concept: Different grahas govern distinct life-spheres when placed in 4th/5th; conjunctions (e.g., Candra–Ketu) modify mental and karmic patterns.

Vedantic Theme: Guṇa-miśra prārabdha: mixed influences shaping mind (manas) and merit (puṇya) within empirical life.

Application: Interpret 4th-house emphasis for home, education, inner contentment; 5th for learning, mantra, children, creativity—while treating Candra–Ketu as a cue for mental detachment and disciplined focus.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

This verse lists and arranges grahas (planets/nodes) into specific divisions, reflecting the text’s cosmological-astrological framework used for understanding time, fate, and ritual timing.

Indirectly: by presenting a Jyotisha-based cosmic order, it supports the Purana’s broader view that the soul’s experiences unfold within a structured universe governed by time and karmic law.

Use it as a scriptural reference for traditional Navagraha identification and for grounding astrological/ritual discussions in Purāṇic cosmology rather than speculation.
