Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vainateya)
Concept: Internalization of worship: meditate on the universal form at the forehead and worship the Self; sanctify offerings with astra-mantra and adore with hṛdaya-mantra.
Vedantic Theme: Antaryāmin-bhāva and ātma-sākṣātkāra orientation: outer ritual culminates in inward recognition; unity of viśva and ātman.
Application: Combine brief visualization (forehead focus), self-inquiry/devotional inward offering, and disciplined mantra practice; treat rituals as supports for inner transformation.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: inner yogic space + altar space
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.42.17 (pavitra-sthapana and worship sequence)
This verse links Viśvarūpa-dhyāna with inner worship (ātma-pūjā), presenting the Universal Form as a contemplative support that sanctifies ritual action through direct inward realization.
By emphasizing purification and heart-centered worship, it points to inner sanctification as the basis for dharmic practice—preparing consciousness through mantra and meditation rather than relying only on external rites.
Before any worship, pause for focused meditation (forehead/ājñā focus), keep actions ritually clean (symbolic purification), and perform offerings with sincerity from the heart—combining discipline with inner devotion.
