Mantra-Pūta Auṣadhi-Prayoga: Roots, Amulets, and Protections from Disease and Graha/Bhūta Affliction

FAQs

Nīla-Lohita is invoked as a protective divine force associated with removing fear, graha-type afflictions, and dangers; the verse links that protection to a specific ritual binding practice.

It describes an apotropaic rite: gathering a plant with its stalk and tying it on the hand, neck, or waist—especially on kṛṣṇa-pakṣa caturdaśī—to avert seizures/afflictions and fear from predators.

It emphasizes disciplined timing, intention, and faith in protective observances; in modern life, it can be taken as guidance to adopt structured, dharmic safeguards (prayer, vows, and responsible precautions) against fear and harmful influences.
