Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Dosha: Pitta
Concept: Right maintenance of the body through appropriate, doṣa-specific remedies.
Vedantic Theme: Śarīra as an instrument (sādhana) to uphold dharma and pursue higher aims; balance (samatva) as supportive of sattva.
Application: For pitta aggravation, use cooling/anti-pitta preparations: vāsaka-svarasa or guḍūcī-rasa; alternatively āmalakī-seed paste with water, sugar, and honey under qualified guidance.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.171 (Ayurveda/medicine section; doṣa-based remedies); Garuda Purana 1.172 (continuation into strīroga-cikitsā)
This verse preserves practical, tradition-backed formulations—vāsaka, guḍūcī, and āmalakī—used to pacify pitta and restore bodily balance.
It does not describe the after-death path here; instead, it teaches bodily maintenance and healing as part of dharmic living within Kāṇḍa 1’s conduct-focused instruction.
Use the verse as a textual reference for pitta-pacifying herbal choices (vāsaka/guḍūcī/āmalakī), while following qualified Ayurvedic guidance for dosage and suitability.
