FAQs

This verse states that worship performed on Saptamī—honoring Viṣṇu, Durgā, Śiva, and the Sun in order—purifies the devotee and grants attainment of their divine realms along with desired results.

Rather than describing punishments or preta-journeys, it links disciplined devotion (pūjā) with purification (nirmalatva) and a favorable post-mortem destination—reaching the deva-lokas associated with the worshipped deities.

Observe Saptamī with a simple, sincere pūjā in the stated order (or with focused devotion if time is limited), emphasizing inner purity and ethical conduct alongside ritual.
