Parīkṣit’s Final Absorption, Takṣaka’s Bite, Janamejaya’s Snake Sacrifice, and the Vedic Sound-Lineage
त एतदधिगच्छन्ति विष्णोर्यत् परमं पदम् । अहं ममेति दौर्जन्यं न येषां देहगेहजम् ॥ ३३ ॥
ta etad adhigacchanti viṣṇor yat paramaṁ padam ahaṁ mameti daurjanyaṁ na yeṣāṁ deha-geha-jam
Solche Geweihten gelangen zum Verständnis der höchsten transzendentalen Stellung Viṣṇus, weil sie nicht länger von den Vorstellungen „ich“ und „mein“ befleckt sind, die auf Körper und Heim beruhen.
This verse says liberation—reaching Viṣṇu’s supreme abode—comes to those who are free from the corrupt mentality of “I” and “mine,” which arises from bodily and household identification.
Because identifying the self with the body and possessions produces ego and possessiveness (“I” and “mine”), which breeds harmful tendencies and blocks realization of Viṣṇu’s highest state.
Reduce ego-based identity and possessiveness: serve others, practice devotion, and treat home and body as temporary trusts rather than the self—this weakens “I/mine” and strengthens spiritual focus.
