Bhāgavata-Māhātmya and the Complete Summary of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
This verse states that a self-controlled person who fasts and recites Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam—especially at sacred places like Puṣkara, Mathurā, and Dvārakā—becomes freed from fear.
In the closing summary of the Bhāgavatam, Sūta Gosvāmī highlights renowned tīrthas associated with great sanctity (and in Mathurā and Dvārakā, directly with Śrī Kṛṣṇa) to emphasize the exceptional spiritual potency of disciplined recitation there.
Adopt the essence: practice self-restraint, observe a simple fast or mindful austerity as appropriate, and regularly read or recite Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam with devotion—cultivating inner fearlessness through remembrance of the Lord.
