This verse states that despite adding more rope, it remained two fingers short each time, highlighting that Kṛṣṇa cannot be ‘bound’ by material effort alone—His submission comes through devotion.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this pastime to King Parīkṣit while describing Mother Yaśodā’s attempt to bind child Kṛṣṇa.
Sincere effort is important, but spiritual results mature through humility and loving devotion; one should practice steadily and depend on divine grace rather than ego-driven control.
