Kṛṣṇa Teases Rukmiṇī; Her Devotional Reply and the Lord’s Assurance
tad dṛṣṭvā bhagavān kṛṣṇaḥ priyāyāḥ prema-bandhanam hāsya-prauḍhim ajānantyāḥ karuṇaḥ so ’nvakampata
It shows that Kṛṣṇa, though playful in His līlā, is deeply compassionate and immediately softens when He sees His devotee distressed by love and misunderstanding.
Rukmiṇī did not grasp that Kṛṣṇa’s words were joking banter; taking them seriously, she became emotionally overwhelmed, and Kṛṣṇa, seeing her bound by love, felt tender compassion.
The verse encourages devotees to cultivate trust in the Lord’s intentions, remembering that even when life feels confusing, Kṛṣṇa remains compassionate and responsive to sincere love.
