Pūtanā-mokṣa — The Witch Pūtanā’s Attempt and Kṛṣṇa’s Deliverance
sā muñca muñcālam iti prabhāṣiṇī niṣpīḍyamānākhila-jīva-marmaṇi vivṛtya netre caraṇau bhujau muhuḥ prasvinna-gātrā kṣipatī ruroda ha
Unerträglich an allen Lebenspunkten gepresst, schrie Pūtanā: „Lass ab, lass ab, genug! Saug nicht länger an meiner Brust!“ Schweißüberströmt, mit weit aufgerissenen Augen, um sich schlagend mit Armen und Beinen, weinte sie immer wieder laut auf.
The Rākṣasī was severely punished by Kṛṣṇa. She threw her arms and legs about, and Kṛṣṇa also began to kick her with His legs to punish her properly for her mischievous activities.
This verse describes Pūtanā being crushed at her vital core, crying “Release me!”, sweating, flailing her limbs, and wailing as Kṛṣṇa’s divine power ended her demoniac life.
Because she could not escape Kṛṣṇa’s grasp and potency; as He sucked the poisoned breast, He also drew out her very life, causing unbearable distress and helpless panic.
It highlights that evil intentions ultimately collapse before the Divine; cultivating sincere devotion and taking refuge in Kṛṣṇa is presented as the safest protection against harmful influences.
