Kṛṣṇa Visits Indraprastha; Kuntī’s Remembrance; Kālindī and Further Marriages
कालिन्दीति समाख्याता वसामि यमुनाजले । निर्मिते भवने पित्रा यावदच्युतदर्शनम् ॥ २२ ॥
kālindīti samākhyātā vasāmi yamunā-jale nirmite bhavane pitrā yāvad acyuta-darśanam
Man nennt mich Kālindī. Ich wohne in einem Palast, den mein Vater in den Wassern der Yamunā errichten ließ, und dort bleibe ich, bis ich den Herrn Acyuta schaue.
Since Kālindī was a beloved child of the sun-god himself, who would dare disturb her? From this incident we can appreciate the beautiful spiritual processes executed in previous ages by great souls. Unlike the so-called love in worldly “love affairs,” beautiful Kālindī’s love for Lord Kṛṣṇa was pure and perfect. Even though Kālindī was a tender young girl, her determination to marry Kṛṣṇa was so strong that she arranged for her father to build her a house in the Yamunā where she could perform severe austerities until the day her beloved came.
This verse states that Kālindī lives within the waters of the Yamunā, in a residence built by her father, and she waits there seeking Lord Kṛṣṇa’s darśana.
Kālindī expresses her devotional longing—her life’s aim is to receive the personal audience of Śrī Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta), indicating her desire for His grace and relationship.
Cultivate steady devotion by arranging life around remembrance of Kṛṣṇa—through prayer, śravaṇa (hearing), kīrtana (chanting), and seeking sacred association—so spiritual priorities guide daily choices.
