Uddhava blieb dort mehrere Monate; indem er die Erzählungen von den Līlās des Herrn Kṛṣṇa sang, vertrieb er den Kummer der Gopīs und erfreute ganz Gokula.
The great ācārya Jīva Gosvāmī comments in this regard that Uddhava, during his stay in Vṛndāvana, certainly took special care to enliven Kṛṣṇa’s foster parents, Nanda and Yaśodā.
This verse states that by singing and narrating Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes, the devotees’ grief is dispelled and the entire community is delighted—showing līlā-kathā as a direct balm for the heart.
Uddhava remained in Vraja to console the gopīs in separation from Kṛṣṇa, and to nourish them by speaking and singing about Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes, which restored joy in Gokula.
When facing grief or anxiety, regularly hear, read, or sing devotional narrations of Kṛṣṇa’s līlās (kīrtana and śravaṇa) as a steady practice to transform sorrow into remembrance and inner joy.
