Veṇu-gīta-āhvāna and the Gopīs’ Appeal: The Opening of Rāsa-līlā

दुहन्त्योऽभिययु: काश्चिद् दोहं हित्वा समुत्सुका: । पयोऽधिश्रित्य संयावमनुद्वास्यापरा ययु: ॥ ५ ॥

duhantyo ’bhiyayuḥ kāścid dohaṁ hitvā samutsukāḥ payo ’dhiśritya saṁyāvam anudvāsyāparā yayuḥ

Einige gopīs melkten gerade die Kühe; als sie Kṛṣṇas Flöte hörten, ließen sie voller Sehnsucht das Melken stehen und eilten fort. Andere ließen Milch auf dem Herd gerinnen, wieder andere ließen Kuchen im Ofen anbrennen — und gingen Ihm entgegen.
